Cloncurry
Unearthed Visitor Information Centre and Museum
takes you on a journey with
local Indigenous collection of artefacts, Burke and Wills ill-fated adventure,
Mary Kathleen mine and township, Ernest Henry Copper Mine. Travel back in time
with the photo’s artefacts and information of Cloncurry in a bygone era. View
Burkes water bottle, some of the vintage dresses, and copper from EHM mine, and
assayers’ equipment.

Cloncurry Unearthed houses one of the most comprehensive
rock, ore, gem, and mineral collections in Australia as declared by experts in
the industry.

Outside the building you can view the rail ambulance that
ran to Kuridala and was last used in the 70’s, as well as some of the old
machinery that was operated by the businesses in Cloncurry Shire. Check out the
Tamrock Drill rig at the front of the park, or maybe the sculpture created by
Joel Fergy, a well-known silo artist, with the assistance of one of our talented
local fabricators.

There are large shady trees ideal for having a picnic under
and plenty of green lawn creates a beautiful and peaceful setting.

 Cloncurry Unearthed
is situated next door to the Gidgee Inn Motel and across the road from the Cloncurry
Oasis Caravan Park.
